In my excitement of my new life with Jesus, I told my mom that I felt I was going to die a martyr. She just gave me that, ‘you don’t know what you’re talking about smile’.
But Heavenly Father spoke to me about my mentality towards living and dying for him.
In a dream He challenged me about wanting to die for Him. After waking up, He asked me to focus on the enjoyment of living with Him.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of god that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the gentile.
Romans 1:16
Another translation puts it this way –
‘I refuse to be ashamed of sharing the wonderful message of god’s liberating power unleashed in us through Christ! For i am thrilled to preach that everyone who believes is saved—the Jew first, and then people everywhere! ‘
Romans 1:16
I love that we don’t have to, but, instead, get to share, in power, the gospel of Jesus, that gives us life and life to the fullest!
So how do I live radically and not ashamed of my relationship with Jesus?
So I give you now a new commandment: love each other just as much as I have loved you. For when you demonstrate the same love, I have for you by loving one another, everyone will know that you’re my true followers.
John 13:34-35
