My Journey of
Transformation
Listen to the blog
There was a time in my life when I was lost—completely consumed by drug addiction and the darkness it brings.
Looking back, it feels like another lifetime. The person I was then could never have imagined the life I live now. But that's what Jesus does—He takes the broken pieces of our lives and creates something beautiful.
My Journey: Lost and Found
I’ve learned that addiction is not just a physical or mental battle; it's a spiritual one.
No amount of willpower or self-help could pull me out of the pit I was in. I tried and failed countless times. It wasn’t until I surrendered my life to Jesus that things truly began to change.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
— Psalm 40:2
Jesus didn’t just save me from addiction—He gave me a new identity, a new purpose, and most importantly, freedom.
What I’ve Learned
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that surrender is not weakness; it’s the most powerful thing you can do.
Giving control to Jesus doesn’t mean life will be easy, but it means you’ll never have to face the battles alone. It means the chains that held you down—whether it’s addiction, shame, fear, or something else—can and will be broken.
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
— John 8:36
I learned that I couldn't fight this battle in my own strength. Only through Jesus could I experience true victory.
But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
— 2 Corinthians 12:9
Advice for Those Struggling
If you’re struggling right now, let me tell you this: there is hope. I know it feels impossible, but you are not beyond saving.
Jesus is waiting with open arms, ready to heal and restore you. But it starts with a choice—a choice to surrender your life to Him, to trust Him, and to believe that He can and will turn your life around.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest
— Matthew 11:28
Surrendering your life to Jesus isn’t about religion; it’s about relationship. It’s about letting Him carry the burdens you were never meant to bear.
Hope in Christ
As the founder of Teen Challenge, once said:
Our message is that there is hope, deliverance, and freedom for all through Jesus Christ. No matter how far you’ve gone, His love can reach you and make you whole."
— David Wilkerson
Jesus changed my life, and He can change yours too. All you have to do is take the first step: surrender.
