Madly in Love

Whenever I start talking to Jesus, I usually always say that I am so MADLY IN LOVE with Him!

When I say those words, it reminds me that my identity is in Him. It reminds me of what that identity looks like. My favorite scripture in the Bible that expresses who we are to Heavenly Father, is 1 John 3:1. In short, it says that we know that we are children of God because of the love that He lavishes on us!

So if we are God’s children, and that makes us like Jesus, and Jesus is God and God is love…

Then my desire should be to live out the character of God’s love.

Let’s read 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

Wow!!! Now that’s a life journey to live out.

Another thought on this love expression of life comes to mind. What is our love for God suppose to produce? We know what it should look like… but what does the fruit look like?

Let’s read from Psalm 96:1-3

Sing a new song to the Lord; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to Yahweh, praise His name; proclaim His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonderful works among all peoples.

This is a Psalms from David that he wrote for the return of the ark of the covenant (The presence of God) to Jerusalem…

Praise and witnesses were the main objective in this event. they were praising that salvation was back in Jerusalem.

A thousand years later on the day of Pentecost, you see the same thing. Salvation came to the disciples and when they received the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, they were praising God and went out to be a witness of this and proclaim this salvation through Jesus.

With praise came witness and three thousand people came to the Lord that day.

Those of us who enjoy this salvation and say that we are madly in love with Jesus, what are we doing to express this love?

Are we praising Him and being a witness of this love we have for God and the salvation He gives us through Jesus Christ?

What kind of praise are we talking about here?

To HALAL! (An old Hebrew word expressing an insanely awesome way of praising Him). This type of praise is dependent on God for victory. Because we realize the circumstances we are in can only find victory through God Himself.

Whenever I need a personal breakthrough, I put on my favorite Worship playlist and praise my socks off! I usually find myself on my knees in tears of joy. Even though I do not have the fulfilled answer right then and there, I am given the peace from Holy Spirit that I more than a conquer!

I use this praise technique in several areas, both private and public. Heavenly Father has not let me down even once!

What kind of witness are we talking about it?

A kind of witness that brings the kingdom of heaven here to earth.

Psalm 67:1-7 says,

May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us— so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you. May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples with equity and guide the nations of the earth. May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you. The land yields its harvest; God, our God, blesses us. May God bless us still, so that all the ends of the earth will fear him.

His ways here to earth are defined as who God is. God is love, back to the beginning of this message. Our Identity is defined by our love for God through our praise and witness!!

Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

James 1:22-24 But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his own face in a mirror. For he looks at himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
