Trusting in Our Heavenly Father's Presence

I Am Safe

It's a simple phrase, but carries profound significance: "I Am Safe". And the source of this safety? It’s not in our circumstances or our efforts but in the unfailing presence of our Heavenly Father.

I Am With You

In Exodus 3:14, God reassured Moses with these powerful words, "I Am Who I Am. Say this to the people of Israel: I Am has sent me to you." These weren't just words of reassurance for Moses, but a declaration of the absolute existence of God, conveying that everything God is, is with us.

In my life, I've experienced this divine presence and guidance. I remember the prophetic words given to my father about me. Despite my rebellious years, God didn't give up on me. He was persistent, just like He was with Moses. Joshua 1:5 reassures us that God will not fail or abandon us. What He starts, He will finish. Therefore, we can feel safe with our Heavenly Father.

No One Can Stand Against You

In Joshua 1:5, God made another promise: "No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you." We find safety in our Heavenly Father because whatever He initiates with us, He will bring to fruition in and through us. What we start and chase after, we must manage; but what God begins and seeks, He oversees.

What Does It Mean to Be Safe?

With God as our refuge and strong tower, being safe doesn't necessarily mean being comfortable and catered to. It might sometimes mean discomfort, but it always means being taken care of.

In 2 Timothy 1:6–7, Paul writes: "This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline (Sound-Mind)."

We are reminded to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave us. God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. Reacting out of fear gives us a false understanding of what it means to be safe. In the face of fear, we are to remember our calling from God. We have within us the power of God, the perfect love of God, and the mind of Christ by which we can make "sound | safe" choices.

Overcoming Fear with Faith

Facing fear, we are called to remember our divine calling (2 Tim. 1:6). We possess the power of God through the Holy Spirit, the perfect love of God through Jesus Christ, and the mind of Christ, enabling us to make sound and safe choices. By living out these truths, we determine whether we will overcome fear or be conquered by it.

John affirms this in 1 John 5:4: "For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith."

I remember a shark attack that could have been fatal. But God protected me. This experience taught me that safety is not about avoiding danger but about trusting in God's protection.

I Am Safe

Remembering that we are safe in the arms of our Heavenly Father allows us to live out our calling without fear. We are empowered, loved, and sound-minded because the God of all creation is with us, guiding us each step of the way.
