A Warrior Heart

HOW CAN WE HAVE A WARRIOR’S HEART THAT BRINGS BREAKTHROUGH IN ALL WE DO FOR AND WITH OUR HEAVENLY FATHER?

Read the story of David and Goliath, and see how a man after God’s heart, fights the good fight against the enemy of God’s children. (1 Samuel 17)

The Father’s Heart in us will give us a ‘Warrior Heart’

I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, who will do all my will. (Acts 13:22)

A Warrior Heart:

• Is not afraid to fight the good fight (1 Samuel 17:22,23)
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7)
• Knows it’s a spiritual battle (1 Samuel 17:26) – defilement and reproach)

• Will be opposed by some (1 Samuel 17:28)
• Needs no audience (1 Samuel 17:34-36)
• Creates hope in others for God (1 Samuel 17:37)

But the enemy will react:

• Trying to bring fear (1 Samuel 17:41) Read also (1 Peter 5:8)
• Pride puffs up its feathers and anger begin to rage (1 Samuel 17:43,44)

A Warrior Heart:

• Knows where to get help (1 Samuel 17:45)
• Depends on God’s Word (1 Samuel 17:46, 47)
• Puts God’s Word into action (1 Samuel 17:48, 49)

The consequences of a Warrior Heart:

BREAKTHROUGH!

• You have victory over your enemies (1 Samuel 17:50, 51)
• You bring unity to the body (1 Samuel 17:52)
• Blessings (1 Samuel 17:53)
• Brotherhood (1 Samuel 18:1-5)
